Quickmice™ Fast CKO Mouse Customization

Conditional Knock-out (CKO) is a tissue-specific gene knockout technology achieved by a localized recombination system.

One of the major advantages of conditional knock out is its ability to study gene function in a more controlled manner. By selectively inactivating genes at specific time points or in specific tissues, researchers can observe the consequences of gene loss and gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of various biological processes.

It takes over 10-12 months to construct a CKO mouse model with low success rate using traditional Cre/LoxP system, as this system requires Flox mice to mate with a mouse with specific expression of Cre.

Based on the optimal gene editing program by our scientists, we can complete the screening of edited embryonic stem cells within 3-5 days, then construct tetraploid embryo. After maternal surrogacy, the homozygous humanized mice can be obtained within 2-4 months, which can save 7-8 months for customers.
